For those of you who don’t understand the humor, “beard” is a British slang term used for a person who uses another person in order to conceal the fact that they’re homosexual.
“Brave choice, celery. But fair play to you, not a lot of men can carry off a decorative vegetable.”
“Mummy?”

“Why don’t you ask her yourself?”
“Me no speak Celtic!”
